My supervisor humiliated me infront of our entire team a month ago.
As is my normal reaction when I get angry, I felt tears spring to my eyes. Still, I was able to keep my tears at bay until I rode the passenger jeepney for home, when I couldn’t keep them from spilling onto my cheeks.
I kept my face turned outside, so that the other passengers wouldn’t see.
I did not expect, however, that the driver of the Fed Ex truck behind our vehicle would have a good view of me.
He yelled to me, “HUWAG KANG MAG-ALALA! MAHAL KA NUN!” (Don’t worry, he loves you!)
That certainly turned my tears of grief to tears of laughter.
