A White Christmas

Every year, I have a Christmas party with my hometown friends. Our theme this year: White Christmas.

White Christmas

As in everyone wore white. We don’t get to experience real white Christmases in tropical Singapore, see. So everyone wore white and the girls wore silver ribbon in their hair, like we were presents, like so:

There was a lot of food, as usual, and Elma brought some pretty Christmas themed cupcakes:

We had the usual Secret Santa exchange gifts.

One of the highlights of the event was when I surprised everyone by breaking them into two groups for an imprompt Christmas carol competition. They did really well despite the short time for preparation. Here is the video of their performances. It’s super funny!

Did you watch the video??? No? Well fine, let me break it down for you. The first group sang “Last Christmas” with some choreography and ended it with the “thank you” song that kids back in the Philippines typically end all their carols with.

Meanwhile the second group rendered a choir-like version of Silent Night.

Then just as we thought they were just super serious, they broke into their second song mashed up with the then popular Oppa Gangnam Style, and their two boys even put on shades and they all danced the steps to that song!

It was so cool and funny and I can’t believe they came up with that so quickly!

Obviously the second group won, as judged by our guest Kaye, my high school classmate who was in Singapore at that time.

But this wasn’t the only highlight of the event because we also held a wedding shower for Mark and Anne! We played three games which all involved – err – strangely shaped playing cards, bananas & whipped cream, and eggplants.

I’m sure you can imagine what NSFW games happened. LOL. Also, some of Elma’s cupcakes had designs that I can’t post here in case kids are reading this! Haha.

After all the games, we put the couple on the hot seat where they had to answer our questions and have the same answer or else get consequences. As you can see from Mark’s facial expression below, they didn’t agree on some answers. Haha!

It was a really fun night, as all our parties are! 😄
