Ricciotti @ Riverwalk {Foodee}

Previously on Deecoded: In the episode Nachos with Chi, Chi and Punch are back in Singapore for a vacation. Chi spends almost an entire day with me and Gelle but after parting, we still feel like it wasn’t enough. Punch suggests another meeting the next day, and that’s what led us to this episode, which happened last Sunday.

Chi originally suggested dinner at Le Chasseur. It sounds really classy, but don’t be fooled by the name. It’s just a simple Chinese restaurant that also serves the Filipino dish crispy pata, and we used to go there for that and their yummy claypot rice. We didn’t end up eating there this time, though, so if you want to read about that place, you can go to this old post instead.

Anyway, Chi decided that what she really wanted to eat was pizza in Ricciotti. It is near Le Chasseur, so the place change was no issue at all. Ricciotti is also an old favorite hangout of ours and Chi likes it so much, in fact, that we also had dinner here the last time she and Punch were in Singapore for a vacation, last August 2012.

Ricciotti, unlike Le Chasseur, can be judged based on its name… it is in fact an Italian restaurant, with quaint checkered tablecloths on their tables making it look the part.

Ricciotti rocks the Italian restaurant look

It is located on the banks of the river so you can have a beautiful view outside if you wanted to. But Singapore has been so hot and humid lately (well it always it, but even more so) that we opted for a table inside the airconditioned restaurant.

Inside the restaurant, the Pandas using their new toy –
the ingenius monopad for self-portraits. Perfect for travelers. I want!

We ordered our all-time favorites for sharing, pictured below:

Pizzotto (12″ – S$23.90)
Bacon, mushrooms, egg, pomodoro and mozzarela cheese

Soffiato (S$8.90)
Chocolate lava cake served with a scoop of vanilla gelato

Those two are deliziosissima! They’re a must try if you intend to drop by this place. The pizza is made with a thin crust (my favorite kind!) and the toppings are very tasty, a sure hit for breakfast lovers especially. I mean, who doesn’t like bacon and eggs?

The soffiato is made of a warmed up moist dark chocolate cake which matches perfectly with the cold ice cream. To borrow Chi’s word from the previous day: HEAVEN! 😀

I also had this for my drink:

Hot chocolate

It’s really delicious, too, but maybe it was the wrong choice of drink to pair with our already chocolatey dessert. Chi and Gelle’s mocha would be the better choice.

As usual, we had a lot of fun talking until we had to leave at around past 9 pm because some of us had work the next day while Chi and Punch were flying back to the Philippines already. So this was really final. Huhu. Oh well papel, at least we got to spend a lot of time together!

And so I’ll end this entry with a throwback pic from this old post.

  1. Food looks great! Especially the pizzotto. I've heard bacon on pizza is really good.
