The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite TV shows. I can always count on it to make me laugh out loud literally. But a few weeks ago, they had an episode that made me tear up, not from laughter, but from being touched. This was when Howard decided to celebrate the anniversary of his first date with his wife Bernadette by composing a song for her. You can watch it below.
Here are the lyrics transcribed by Popwatch:
a dot without the com
without any string
I’d be binary code without a one,
So nerdy and funny yet sweet, right?
I teared up at “I couldn’t have imagined how good my life would get” part (where Bernadette tears up too) because it’s so true.
When my team mate H and I talked about that episode, I said I really loved the song and that we should come up with one for his wife.
After a while, I said, “You know what? This is the worst song EVER.”
But speaking of H, he has a nice love story too, by the way.
He had a gal pal, let’s call her D, who met another girl, M, and they became instant friends. She told H that he and M had the same personality and would be perfect together, so they should meet. H didn’t like being set up, so he declined even though D was very insistent.
One day, D dropped by H’s place just to hang out. Suddenly, she said, “Oh gosh, I forgot that I was meeting M! She’s on her way to fetch me here now. Can you be a dear and accompany me downstairs to meet her?”
But D was right – H and M did hit it off. When she flew back to Australia some weeks later, he flew out there to visit her. He was smitten. They got married last June.
And to think it never would have happened if not for a meddling friend! Haha. Maybe that’s what we should put into the song instead of weird hedge fund jargon, huh? 😀
