*SYNOPSIS*
In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent).
On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives.
For Beatrice (Shailene Woodley), the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy named Four (Theo James) fits into the life she’s chosen.
But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
Okay, that synopsis is actually taken from the book on which the movie is based, a book I loved so much that I read it all in one day.
Well I loved the movie too! It’s a thrilling action adventure with romance thrown in the mix. The two leads have such palpable chemistry. Theo James is so hot that my roomie and her sister spent a Facetime session gushing about him the moment we got home. Haha.
I try to see movies as a separate entity from the book, but there were just a few parts they didn’t cover in the movie which only got obvious when my roommate and her sister pointed them out and I managed to explain it to them because I had read the book and they had not.
But overall, it’s a movie worth watching. Go check it out if you’re into Hunger Games and that genre.

I'll definitely see it because I loved the first two books. The third? Not so much… x
Dee says
I couldn't finish the third book, so I went and found out how it ends… and I don't want to finish reading it anymore!
Dee says
Yay, we're on the same page about this. 🙂

I haven't read the books yet, but I keep hearing about them. <br />I just remember Theo James in that one episode of Downton Abbey–my mouth literally fell open when he came on screen. I didn't realize they made human beings that perfect looking. Seriously.

Four is soooo hot right?! J's friend was raving about how sexy Shailene Woodley's butt is in the movie though.
Dee says
Haha I love your comment, I have to show this to my roommate!
Dee says
She is sexy, though! They're both hot then. Haha.
