Someone once said that comments are the currency of the blogging world. So when I get really great comments, it’s like being paid, not just a compliment, but blogging currency! And it makes me so happy that my heart grows to thrice its normal size.
So forgive me if I indulge in a bit of self love by publishing some comments that made my day.
Just stumbled here today and I’ve been reading your posts (even the old ones) for almost an hour now…its interrupting my work! lol.

You write so vividly. Makes me experience your same experience as well.

So, I read this post a few days ago but I was on my phone and couldn’t really comment. So I’ve waited patiently to come here and comment, going as far as to set a reminder in my phone and now I can’t even remember what I was going to write!
Since my memory is deteriorating (obviously), I’ll keep it short. I want you to know that you have inspired me and made me feel fabulous. Your blogs are wonderful and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you through written text. I was really happy to start finding people like you who I could relate to.-Hannah on 7 Reasons for Blogging
I love your stories!! “Wave it in the air like I just don’t care?”…haha too funny! We are the same level of “wild” you and I! 🙂
-Anna on Dating Diaries: A Boy in a Bar
Such a great idea, perfect for cost saving too! I’ve always wanted to do something like this just incase i accidentally die or something, but i can never get my brain to work when i think “What would i want to say if i was dead” because then my brain is all, “well you’re dead so you can’t say anything, you should probably think about what you would want to say if you were dying” then i’m all “but if i was dying i’d probably want to spend my last moments eating cornettos and not talking” and then my brain is all “you’re so selfish to keep your words secret when you’re dying, and FYI it’ll probably be your cornetto addiction that kills you. You might want to seek help before it’s too late”
… So yeah. You can see why i never got it done!
I love love love reading your stories and how wonderful you have all these mementos to look back on.
-Bailie on A Tale of 2 Roses
Happy bloggy birthday! 😀 I recently found your blog and I love it! I´ve been reading all your A to Z challenge posts and I´m obssesed! 🙂 Have a great day!
-Mari on 9th Bloggy Birthday
There are more, actually. The truth is… every single nice comment I get makes my day. 🙂
P.S. I’d like to share this portion on commenting that I wrote as part of 7 Lessons I Learned from Blogging. You might find it useful.
COMMENTING TIPS
Make it easy to be able to connect with you. If you’re using a Blogger account to comment, don’t be a no-reply-comment blogger. Don’t know what that means? I didn’t too. Luckily I found this tutorial to help me out. Now Blogger bloggers (seriously, how redundant does that sound?) can respond to your comments via email, and you’ll make more connections! Isn’t that exciting?
Meanwhile, if you use Disqus, make sure to update your profile to show your blog link so that people can find it in case they want to return the love, like so:
To encourage people to comment on your own blogs, don’t make it difficult for them to do so. That means do away with the annoying captcha if you have them because it deters not just spam bots but real commenters as well. I find that if I have to jump through hoops, shed blood, and offer a sacrificial virgin before I can leave a comment on a blog that I am not so inclined to do so anymore.
Make sure to reply to people to people who leave comments, especially those who obviously put in effort in their genuine comments and those who have questions. It’s preferable to do this by replying to them by email so it will get delivered to their inbox, because few people go back to a blog they commented on to check if they had gotten a reply there. I installed Disqus commenting system because responding there sends an email to the commenter informing them of my response, so it’s both on my website AND in their inbox. Win-win!
This post is part of the A to Z Challenge, a blog hop that goes through the alphabet for all the days of April except Sundays.

Very good tips, Dee and I think many of us gauge our blog by how many/the quality of comments we get. Feedback is always nice 😉

"Comments are the currency of the blogging world" is dead right! And then I let the comments (or lack of them) measure my blogging self-worth! Sometimes, I have to remind myself that as much as I love the feedback, I started blogging just for myself, and if I'm happy with what I wrote, that should be good enough. It isn't, of course, but it should be 🙂

Comments are the push to come up with newer blog posts, aren't they? Wish you more such beautiful comments.
