Some people crave fame. Not me. I don’t think I can handle it.
But I don’t have what it takes to be famous anyway, so thank goodness for that, eh?
I’m sure there would be a lot of pros, like fortune (which usually comes with fame) and other privileges like getting bumped up in queues, invites to events that are only limited to VIP’s, rubbing elbows with other famous people, presents, adoration… and a lot of other things.
But then there are cons, too.
Like losing your privacy, for instance. Yes, I do have a public blog and social media accounts, but at least I get to choose what to disclose here. But celebrities get followed everywhere and can’t even leave the house for a coffee run without getting papped in their sweats and no makeup and have those pictures plastered all over. And we all know about the great iCloud hack of 2014. Can you imagine having your most intimate moments exposed to the world? How mortifying. If that happened to me I would probably hide in a cave forever.
Then there are the haters. Yes it’s well and good to get fans who love you, but you’ll get a ton of haters as well. I am terrible at receiving criticism. I only had a handful of mean comments on this blog over the years, and I did not handle them very well at all. I can’t imagine dealing with so much more hate. I just do not have the constitution for it.
Haters are the reason for this seemingly random post, actually. Not mine, thank goodness, but those of a blog that I love. I recently realised that this blog was not showing up on my Bloglovin feed lately, so I went to check the blog link itself and saw that the blog no longer exists. Oh no! What happened?
It bothered me a lot, so I dug around and found a forum where some girls dissed her blog, rather unfairly, I must say. She could not handle all the judgment and pulled her blog and Instagram.
Good work, mean girls. You must be so damn proud of yourselves. slow clap
They say that humans are supposed to be more kind than mean, but I doubt that sometimes.
You only have to take a look at the Youtube comments section and you’ll get what I mean.
