Ask most Filipinos about what’s on their bucket list and a lot of them would tell you that this is on their list: touch real snow.
Well, I got to cross that off my bucket list when I went to Jungfrau, Switzerland last August! 😊
August is supposed to be summer but snow can still be found on the top of Europe then. So if you want to touch snow but don’t want to travel in winter because of how terrible it can be, then this is the best place to go do it.
Our journey began from a train station in Lauterbrunnen, where we had also stayed for two nights. We rode a train then got off at some point to switch to the Jungfrau railway. The view going up was breathtaking! We took so many pictures out the window.
A lot of people on our tour group posted pictures of this beautiful cow. How Switzerland can you get?
Then we finally reached Jungfrau!
The place is huge and there’s lots to see.
But the highlight was when I got to go outside and see and touch real snow!!!
It was so freaking cold outside! My thin Uniqlo jacket was not made for snow weather, I think. But after awhile, I acclimatised to the temperature and didn’t feel that it was so terrible anymore, even after I got my S$2 Daiso gloves wet from trying to build a snowman. I failed, by the way, and just settled on making snowballs instead. 😁
Kes took out her go pro and we took some videos which I will not post here LOL. I forced them to sing “Do you wanna build a snowman?” but since they didn’t know the song (how dare they?), we settled on “Let It Snow” instead. 😁
We also took some photos using the go pro but I prefer the quality of the photos we took using my camera, so I’ll pose those instead!
Don’t you just love #dreamcometrue moments? ☺️
