My friend Chu is a good writer who used to come up with stuff like this on his blog:
Now he has been reduced to this:
It’s his Facebook and Twitter status as well. He always simultaneously multi-broadcasts using ping.fm. He says micro-blogging is the newest in thing but I don’t agree. I enjoyed his long posts.
There was a time when I went on blog hiatus, too, when I preferred uploading the pics on Multiply and letting them explain themselves. That was so wrong. So I tried to right it by backposting blogs. It’s not as fun as posting it right after it happens, though. So I hope I’ll never go through that again.
I hope people go back to blogging again. For the sake of their fans!

i agree heidz!!! it's all twitter and fb's fault. hehe. although i don't blame them because there's also an advantage with status updates. just that you don't have to really leave blogging behind. there's nothing like looking back at previous blog posts and actually read about your life and your thoughts in details – as compared to 140-character twitter updates.

i like statuses, too, i update those all the time. but they're so fleeting. and as you said, it's fun to look back by rereading blogs, but definitely not on statuses.
Dee says
i understand that status updates are easier to do, so you would most likely be more updated and in real time, but blogs should be the follow up in-depth explanation.

haha, nice one. demanding indeed! maybe i should do that too!

there are pros and cons with status updates…but blogging will live forever. status updates are, well, just updates. some blog entries gets glued to your heart even after years.

i dont tinker with my FB that much, everything is centralized through my blog. if someone really wants to learn more about me and my 'status', he/she needs to take an effort to visit my blog. hehe. hehehe..yeah, totoo naman diba?

like us, were not contacts sa FB but Im pretty much updated sa mga nangyayari sayo because I take time to visit your blog. 🙂

true. sometimes i get annoyed when friends ask me about stuff that they ought to know if they only took time to drop by my blog. sometimes yun na ang basehan ko if someone truly cares about me, like if you don't read my blog then you don't deserve to be my friend sort of thing. ang emo diba. hahaha.
Ape says
yeah. pag blog mo kasi ang titignan nila…its YOU. its all about you.

getting updates through FB is like they're checking you out but they're not really looking at you when you're talking. you know what i mean?
Dee says
yeah.. like they're just skimming the surface but not digging deep. or they just want to watch the trailer but not want to take time for your movie.
