So as I said in my previous post, I had a planned breakfast with my friends Ngangi and Chi.
Ngangi drove us to the restaurant called Rustic Mornings. This place is apparently quite popular, at least on instagram. We easily found our way there thanks to a GPS app. I was pleasantly surprised to find how cute the place was.
When we asked for a table for 3, they ushered us indoors.
I thought that their menu looked super cute too!
We were so ravenous that we overordered.
There’s a funny story about my hunger, by the way. The previous night when I arrived, Ngangi asked me if I was hungry and offered me something to eat. I told her, “I’m fine, I ate in the plane.” She looked incredulous and said that if I got hungry, I should help myself to any of the food in the kitchen.
Later that night as I lay in bed in the darkness, I suddenly realized that my stomach had a hollow, painful feeling. Ngangi was right, I was hungry. I then did an inventory of what I ate in the plane – a chicken roll, a bag of Nova chips, and Gatorade, which I ate before 8 pm. No wonder my stomach was protesting. But I was too sleepy to get up and scrounge for food, so I just forced myself to ignore it and sleep.
Jump to 8 hours later. Can you blame me for ordering a rice meal AND waffles to share?
I had the beef tapa while Ngangi had the cheese omelet with sausage. The tapa was so delicious! It was so soft and tasted just right!
Meanwhile, Ngangi’s sausage was not good at all. As for the omelet, the cheese was barely detectable.
But she loved the tapa so much that she ordered an extra serving of it, along with bacon. That’s the great thing about their menu, you could have side orders of almost anything.
We also had the half and half waffle churros and plain waffles but we were too full to appreciate this. We realized at this point that we had let our hunger get the best of us earlier. We tried, I swear we really did! But we just could not finish it. :-/
We really loved their iced coffee with milk. I ordered one after finishing my hot mocha, because I tried a sip from Ngangi’s glass and really liked it.
Chi arrived later and ordered something else which she also liked, along with iced coffee too.
Then we talked and laughed and so did everyone around us. Hashtag perfect reunion.
I loved the place. No wonder it’s so popular! The girls chose well, as always. 🙂
