Farewell, Singapore

This is a picture of my first day in Singapore – August 23, 2008.

Everyone in this picture has since left to move on to different countries. I am the last woman standing, and today, I will take my leave as well, at around 8pm tonight.

Coming here was the riskiest yet best decision of my life. Though there were times when I second-guessed the latter, overall I am grateful that I grabbed the opportunity to come here when it presented itself, because I found so many wonderful blessings and friendships here, in what I consider as my second home.

And that is why even though it wasn’t an easy decision, when another opportunity presented itself, I had to grab it again.

Friends keep asking me what I will miss, and I realised that it is a wrong question to ask because how can you know for sure what you will miss until you don’t have it anymore? But the one thing I’m sure I will miss, though, is my friends.

Here are photos of their sweet farewell surprises.

Thank you so much to everyone who made my stay in Singapore a happy one! I hope to visit again someday, when all this Covid-19 madness is over. And of course, feel free to visit me in Hong Kong.

P. S. In case you missed the memo, you can read about why I’m moving here.
