I really thought Boss Ed’s birthday was on July. So yesterday when Mhiles called to ask if I could meet up with them to buy a birthday gift for Boss Ed, I was very VERY unprepared. But I readily agreed.
Later on, she called again and handed me over to Chu who told me that the banking team had prepared a birthday party for Boss in McDonalds, and it was supposed to start in a few minutes and that we were invited and that I should meet them in the office. Yes, my ex-office. Okaaaay. Thanx very much for the early warning.
Luckily, it was only drizzling and I was able to ride a jeep to Mandarin Hotel and walk the rest of the way to the Philamlife Tower. Still luckily, the guard did not ask me for an ID and a couple of girls leaving the office left the door open for me so I got into KPMG despite having no more access card.
My troubles began when I got to the RAS area, however. Everybody was still there! And it was kinda embarrassing to suddenly be the center of their attention after never coming back when I left a month ago. Remind me to kill Chu.
After awhile, we were in McDonalds Greenbelt donning party hats and holding balloons (both of mine being purple, of course!).
Birthday guy was led inside several minutes later, and upon seeing me, he made a beeline for me, making it easy for me to greet him. Can’t blame the guy. He has never seen me since I left!
So we ate and played games and took pictures. Some girls ended up greeting the celebrant in the sexiest way possible, while some boys spelled his name using their butts.
After all the laughter had subsided, Hetty the mascot was brought into the room and we touched her the way kids do (ignorant of mascots) and posed with her.
Then the celebrant distributed bags of McDo toys to his guests. They then asked him to blow the candle on his very grownup cake, which was a kink cake.
We said our goodbyes, and I happily played with my top at home. This is my first time to attend a fastfood-sponsored (kiddie) party, so gimme a break here!
Happy birthday Boss Eds!
