I was once again able to wake up early, thank goodness, so that I had time to swing by my office locker to grab my shoes before boarding the bus that would take the Accounts Payable department to Tagaytay Highlands for our team building.
We got to Golf Club in a couple of hours. The morning was filled with some serious stuff from our bosses, which was broken by a dance (if you could call it that) number by the newest A/P hires: Unna, Julie, Annabelle, Steph, Kristine, Yen and me.
Yes, me.
Now my body wasn’t built to dance, not modern dance anyway, so you could just imagine how I must’ve looked. At one point towards the end when I couldn’t follow the steps anymore, I just stood on the sidelines and cheered the rest on.
We were brought by some vans over to Winter Garden, a Chinese restaurant, for lunch. Each table shared the food that was passed around using a lazy susan.
I cracked a few jokes and before lunchtime was up, my manager now saw me in a different light: no longer the shy girl who stays quietly infront of her computer, but the slogan-making girl who is in the completely wrong career. Lucky for me P&G has an advertising department, eh? Hehehe.
The afternoon was spent in games. We split up into three groups. Our group (III) won the first two games.
The first one involved blindfolding everyone up and asking them to form a triangle with a rope.
For the second one we formed the longest line, thanx to Darwin’s cards, bills, and other stuff in his wallet. Also thanx to us who had to lie down on the basketball court floor. And I was in white, imagine!
For the third game we picked five in our group to play an “amazing race.” The last one involved blindfolds again, with us trying to find fellow groupmates by oinking.
But the best part of the activity was the breathtaking view. Unfortunately, the shuttle drove too fast for me to take pictures of all the views, but here are a few. The cameras do not do justice to them, however.
We were then brought by the bus to Dencio’s Tagaytay where we had dinner courtesy of P&G Asia’s head, an American expat, Greg (who was the one who interviewed me, by the way, that’s why he still chats with me whenever we bump into each other in the hallways). Yes, everyone is on first name basis in our company.
After platefuls of sisig and palabok and grilled food, a few shots of Vodka Cruisers, and some ice cream, we headed back to Makati in our bus driven by Manong Danny (we knew his name because of a guessing game earlier).
And as if I wasn’t weary enough, Zenie and I hit the malls afterwards. Midnight madness at Glorietta!
