Chu and his Shell buddies had a blast in Pagsanjan Falls last weekend. He had so much fun, in fact, that he wanted to go back. This time around, he invited us, his housemates.
We started out by riding a bus to Sta. Cruz, Laguna. From there we rode a jeepney to Pagsanjan. Once there, we went into Pagsanjan Lodge Resort, and had a funny moment when Gay was shocked at the price of the entire adventure. But she was game enough to shoulder it nonetheless.
The Pagsanjan adventure really began, though, with an hour-long boatride through a river. The boat was small and narrow so that it could go through the rock-strewn river. Chu and I shared a boat while the other three shared another. We sat at the floor of the boat and stayed in the middle while two boatmen, one in front and back, paddled us through. At rocky portions they actually had to carry the boat or manhandle it, and it was at those points that we pitied them and feared for their safety.
The view was very nice, though. I just sat back and stared up into the dense greenery (squishing Chu who was at my back in the process). One of the foreigners in another boat even said, “I have no stress!”
After the boat ride we got to the falls itself. We then crept out of out mini boats and onto a raft. Some raftsmen then pulled us through the waters of the falls. Once we reached the back, we gleefully jumped into the water, bathed, and took pictures. We had brought along my low-tech polaroid camera, making sure to wrap it in plastic so it wouldn’t get wet. But we did not dare bring along our cellphones, that’s why I had to borrow some of Chu’s pics of Pagsanjan from his previous escapade.
We then headed back to the resort the same way we came. In the resort there was a swimming pool. There was no one else there and we had the place to ourselves. There was this huge slide and we had fun riding it. At first it wasn’t slippery at all, till someone got the idea of putting plastic bags on our butts.
Then it was back to Makati in a bus. We got stuck in traffic and got so hungry. Once we got to Ayala, we ate dinner in Bacolod Chicken Inasal, where we stuffed our tummies full of crab fat rice, chicken inasal, sinigang na bangus and manggang ensalada. We were so full we decided to walk home. Since we still had some film left, we decided to use it up. We posed infront of Greenbelt’s designer shops and didn’t mind that the guards were staring at our freaky poses. Who cares? It was dead night and they didn’t know us anyway!
That was definitely one fun adventure! No wonder Chu wanted to go back! 🙂
