I notice a pattern here. Everytime I see Flisha, I also see Rey and Jerome within that same week or so. Like last time. And now.
Last Saturday I went to meet Flisha in SM Makati. She was apparently in Manila for some sort of seminar, so I took this opportunity to give her birthday gift in person. She treated me to dinner at Tokyo Tokyo, then we walked around Ayala Center to buy stuff in Papemelrotti and take pictures.
When I got home I discovered that my wallet was missing. Not again!
Thankfully I had a separate card holder for my other cards and there was minimal cash in there. Still, I was distraught the next day.
Then on Monday, I got a call from Philamlife saying that someone who had picked up my wallet had called them through the number on the Philam insurance card in my wallet. I had left it in Papemelrotti.
Wow. I still got the wallet luck after all.
The next day I got a call from Rey saying he was hungry and that he would swing over to my office so we could have dinner together. Huh?
That guy is pretty random, but since I couldn’t stop him and I wanted to know who his girlfriend was, I agreed.
See, Rey has never EVER had a girlfriend before. And I’ve sort of always expected my little boy to stay that way forever, so imagine my shock when he told me he was already in a relationship. He wouldn’t tell me her name, saying that he’d do so in person. Which he did.
When he finally showed me their pictures together, I almost fell off my chair. OMG! I know this girl! Isn’t she an actress?!?
No wonder Rey wanted to tell me in person, I wouldn’t have believed him unless I had seen those pictures with my own two eyes.
Apparently the girl had been a passenger on a plane where he was a flight steward), and one time he told her, “Ma’am, I think this is the second time we’ve flown together.” Her response, “The fourth time, actually.” Wow.
We picked up Jerome whose office is a couple of buildings away from mine then headed to Glorietta to have dinner then coffee in Starbucks afterwards, catching up on each other’s lives.
And it simply amazed me how far we’ve come from our High School selves. I wonder where we’d be another 6 years from now?
