Birthday Blahs

I hate Wednesdays. Why? Coz it’s the day when I get the most pressure. It is the day that I do payment run for three markets. And more often than not, these payments run into problems, especially Taiwan’s. After resolving everything and ensuring that what needs to be paid get inlcluded in the payment run, I am usually too frazzled to think straight.

Just my luck, my birthday fell on a Wednesday this year. And just my luck, the contractor who normally handles my fourth market, Japan, decided to go on a leave and make me handle it on top of my three other markets. Oh sure, someday Japan will eventually fall into my hands anyway, but did I have to start now? And as if that wasn’t enough, I also got my period, so although I am very happy that the hormones worked, the pain and discomfort are something I’d never get used to.

So as expected, it was a very frustrating day. Just when I thought I could breathe easily because Taiwan miraculously had no problems, my normally non-problematic market Hongkong did. As a result, I could not even go and have lunch. I just ate a pack of graham crackers infront of my computer. But my PRC was so sweet, when she found out it was my birthday, she sang to me and was majorly concerned. My batchmates were very sweet as well, especially Keso, who composed this email with everyone in the gang on the CC list:

Day 1, Mukang nanay na talaga si Heids.. Sobrang maasikaso for the whole group.
Day 2, Tawahan to death na agad tayong lahat! Ganon kabilis!!!!!
Day 3, Aba! at ang hilig nyang papicture!!!!

Day 4, Nagsimula kaming magdiet..
Day 5, Nagsimula din kaming mag-gym! hehhe
Day 6, Tumigil na ako ng gym after 2 sessions pero si Heids, pursigido at gym parin ng gym na gym ng gym! =) “Patience is a virtue” ito!!!
Day 7, {censored!} at na-sad na tuloy si Heids… =(
Day 8, Nakarecover na sya gad, pero {censored!}
Day 9, Medyo di ko na alam ang nangyayari sa buhay nya kasi bihira na kmi magkita. Namimiss ko tuloy siya… =(
Day 10, Birthday mo na Heids!!!! San tyo???

naalala ko lng ung mga kalokohan ntin sa subic just to take the picture of {censored!} . hehe.. At ang outcome? maliit na pic ni {censored!} at super malaki na KALAHATING MUKA NI HEIDS. hehe 🙂

Well at least we had pizza in the afternoon because we had a departmental meeting. After that, Yen, Drew, Rich and I ate dinner/desserts at Chowking. Actually, Rich was just there for moral support. He had an accident a few weeks ago, which resulted in an operation on his jaw. He can’t eat anything solid right now. The poor guy has lost a lot of weight.

Then I passed by the mall and snagged myself a blouse to wear for Friday’s yet another company party at some snazzy hotel in Roxas Boulevard. Then I was homeward bound, because I didn’t dare go to España so late. My friends back home had been insisting all day for me to visit Marysville because they apparently had a surprise for me. At home I had another surprise, though, a card from Joy, a fellow huggable. Yesterday I had received gifts from my parents and my bestfriend, who celebrated her birthday yesterday, too. And then there’s my cellphone that almost wouldn’t stop beeping all day from people’s greetings.

So actually, even though it was off to a rocky start, I did have a happy birthday after all.
