For this year’s hearts day, we decided to exchange gifts ala kris kringle.
Rhea was the one who picked me and she gave me a really cute stuffed penguin with the message “When penguins find their mate, they stay together forever. This little guy will keep you company as you continue your quest for your penguin. Happy hunting.”
I decided to name the penguin Hugsy Polar or HP for short. Hugsy is the name of Joey’s stuffed penguin in my favorite series Friends while Polar is after Rhea’s second name, Paula. (I always name my stuffed animal gifts after their giver)

Aside from Rhea’s penguin, I also got roses and chocolates from other friends. But nothing could beat Thom’s surprise for Rome. He went to the office at 3am to scatter rose petals around her area and leave a bouquet of some three dozen roses beside her keyboard. Like we told Thom and Ping the night before, flowers are really a girl’s favorite gift. The exchange gifts activity was a success, though. Will definitely do it again!
