Buon Giorno @ Tagaytay {Foodee}

Ngangi drove us to Tagaytay City on the Saturday I was in Metro Manila. Tagaytay is a popular tourist destination because it has a cooler climate and provides a great scenery due to its high altitude and has always been one of my favorite places to visit.

We were headed to a spa and we were supposed to have lunch in The Fort beforehand but we woke up late and had no time to go there anymore, so we decided to have a quick late lunch near the spa instead. That’s how we ended up in Buon Giorno, which is nestled in The Cliffhouse along with a few other restaurants. It was my first time there, and the place is quite gorgeous, really, with greenery all around and a cliffside location that affords a beautiful view overlooking Taal volcano, the famous volcano within a lake. It was a rainy day, though, so it doesn’t show too well in the pictures.

This place is gorgeous!

We picked a table outdoors so we could enjoy the view and the crisp cool Tagaytay air.

As the name suggests, the place serves Italian food, so we ordered just one pizza to share as we thought it wasn’t a good idea to have a bulging tummy before getting a massage. We picked the quattro formaggi or four-cheese pizza. It was delicious except for the parts with blue cheese because I don’t like blue cheese. I loved the thin crust and the creamy, stretchy other cheeses.

I was delighted to find that they also had something Filipino in their menu – dalandan shake! This is my second most favorite drink of all time (the first being the coconut smoothie). Dalandan is Philippine orange. It looks like the normal orange but with green peel and sweeter taste. I’ve missed it so because you can’t find it elsewhere in the world! (I think. I could be wrong, you know.) Allow this picture to tell you how I felt as I sipped my surprisingly gigantic glass of dalandan shake:

Suuuper happy with that side trip, and it was just the beginning of a really wonderful day. Stay tuned for the rest of my Tagaytay trip! 😀
