Better late than never, as the saying goes. We finally watched Avatar this afternoon, after AA wondered if it was a rite of passage that one had to go through in life. I myself was wondering what the fuss was all about and agreed that we ought to watch it.
So we watched it in 3D in Tiong Bahru Plaza’s Golden Village cinema. It was Chi and AA’s first time, so they were so amazed, squealing with delight at how realistic everything looked. I know I had the exact same reaction when I first watched 3D in iMax back in Mall of Asia.
We enjoyed the movie immensely. The effects were brilliant; I really gotta hand it to the special effects master, James Cameron. I remember how blown away I was when he did Titanic years ago, and he did it once again. Unlike the only other movie I’ve watched in 3D, Superman Returns, the entire film was in 3D so I didn’t have to watch out for a sign when to put my glasses on or take them off. Like Superman Returns, though, I had some issues with this movie’s plot but I like it overall for visual aesthetic purposes.
I’m too tired to write the story down, so I’ll just refer you to this site in case you haven’t seen it yet and wanna know the story. 😉

james cameron is making a 3D version of titanic. i think it's set for release next year or 2012. :)

did you know avatar already broker titanic's worldwide gross? the only record still held by titanic is domestic gross(north america). but even that will be overtaken by avatar within this week or next.

im not sure though if the comparison should hold – avatar is shown

wow, i didn't know about the 3D Titanic. that would be so cool i'll bet.

kakabasa ko lang today yung about avatar topping titanic. how cool is it that only cameron himself broke his own record? but you're right, hindi ata fair yun ng konti but still. 😀

well, regardless of the adjustments to titanic's gross, fact stands that cameron is still the king of the world. 🙂
