Whenever I’m in Ikea, I get this sudden urge to settle down, get married, and have kids to have my own home to decorate with their pretty stuff. Last Saturday, I brought my guests there and I ended up buying just a couple of items, but they are very good buys.
First up, the long-awaited full length mirror for our flat. I was actually looking for the 4-piece set which you can tape side by side into one full length on the wall, but I couldn’t find it, so I bought this instead, which is cheaper, at only 10 sgd. It was light enough for me to carry around in a bus and train too.
Second is this “breakfast in bed” table which also only costs 10 sgd. We all bought one each because it was so cute. Too bad it only came in this color. Black or purple would have been nice. Bed and food not included. Haha. Those are my friends’ pasalubong for me from the Philippines, by the way.
Last July, we bought this net-over-the-bed thingie as a wedding present for Joey and Gelle. It cost around 20 sgd. It’s just so pretty. I want one someday too.
Aside from the wonderful home furnishings, there is one more thing you go to Ikea for: food! The chicken wings are to die for. We couldn’t stop saying the word “sarap!” (delicious) while eating. Juiciest and best-tasting chicken wings I’ve ever tasted anywhere. And I’m not even a fan of chicken wings.
The Swedish meatballs, baked chicken, poached salmon, Daim pie and blueberry cheesecake are delicious, too.

one thing i hate about IKEA is the instuctions manual..one time we purchased a PC desk from them…but it was a nightmare setting it up..screws doesnt fit..missing holes…it was unbelievable. to say the least, I shat my pants assembling a table.
