My former boss, David, who is a devout believer of Feng Shui and chinese astrology, gave me a prediction earlier this year. He said that dogs (I was born on the year of the dog) suffered last year but this time around, their luck would pick up.
He was absolutely right. 2009 was the worst year of my existence. Sure I had a few interesting experiences then but overall, I wouldn’t want to relive that year even if you gave me a ton of money.
It’s enough that I experienced it once, though, because I learned a lot of lessons from that year and I wouldn’t be happy now if I hadn’t gone through what I went through that year.
Yes, you read that right, I am HAPPY. Finally. And I have faith that I can only get happier, so I am excited for 2011 to unfold.
A quick recap of my 2010:
– I found a job, quit it, then I found another job.
– I got yelled the “f phrase” for the first time in my life. I really ought to blog about that one of these days.
– I had a dream come true then realized that it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be, so I had to let it go.
– I lost some friends, regained some, and gained new ones too. Lots of them. I realized what true friendship means and who my true friends are.
– I had my heart broken, then healed, several times over.
– I became a bridesmaid and then a flower girl, both for the first time.
– Reunions galore, both in Singapore and Philippines.
– Mom stepped outside the Philippines for the first time when I brought her to Singapore.
– My dad got malaria and it was the scariest news of the year. (He’s okay now, in case you’re wondering.)
– I had my hair permed (yes, I just had to say that)
– I got an iPhone! (yes, I just had to say that too haha!)
– I shed a lot of tears but laughed even more.
