I really enjoyed my first few exciting, exhausting, and relaxing days in Bali (which involved climbing the volcano Mt. Batur) and was ready to check out another part of it – the Bali Nusa Dua area.
Day 4
It was our last day in Kuta, so we ate a huge buffet breakfast. Then we packed our things and rode a cab to a villa in Nusa Dua, the more expensive part of Bali.
When we got to the place, we could understand why. While the Bali we had seen from the past three days reminded us of our home country, Nusa Dua was completely different. It had its own gates, like a village of its own, and it was very rich-resorty in appearance.
We found our villa, Bali Desa, which was near Club Med, and after registering and finding our new home, we wanted jumped with happiness at how beautiful it was.

After settling in and absorbing the place, we changed and got ready to hit the beach.
Obligatory bikini pose. LOL. |
The beach, it turns out, was just a short walk outside through a back door. It was lovely.
Nusa Dua beach |
It was lovely but there were no water sports there, and that’s what I wanted. So we headed back to our hotel lobby to ask where we could snorkel and the nice man told us he could call a car for us to take us where we could do that. So he did just that and we rode the car and found a place that was still open for business. We chose to pay for snorkeling plus underwater pictures in a CD.

Another happy jump shot on the beach this time |
This is me above water |
At first I wore a life vest like the others but then I got annoyed because I couldn’t go down and take a closer look at the underwater life and it wasn’t that deep so I wasn’t afraid that I would drown, so I took it off.
That felt much much better. That was the first time I ever took off my vest to snorkel. I guess I’ve gotten confident in my basic swimming skills and my body’s inability to sink. Too much fats, you see. 😉

After that, we rode a car back to our villa and jumped into the swimming pool to carry on swimming. We tried to teach Gay how to swim but I guess we’re pretty bad teachers so it didn’t really work. Oh well.
A security guard was walking around the place and we asked him what time the back door that led to the beach would close so we could get out of the pool and leave that way. Earlier, we had spotted Westin Hotel where we planned to have dinner.
The security guard said not to worry, he would open the door for us whenever we wanted to leave. That was awfully nice of him!
We eventually dragged ourselves out of the pool and changed. We had all brought dresses for a night out, and we all wore those and put on makeup.
The guard walked us to the gate and he asked us what time we were coming back. We said we would just take a cab to get ourselves to the front door since we knew that back door via the beach was supposed to be closed at 8 pm. But he said no, he would open the door for us, we could just text him, and he gave us his number. Wow, the extra mile! The Balinese are really very nice, I swear.
We walked on the beach and found Westin Hotel and got ourselves a table. We ordered some grilled food for our main course, smoothies for drinks, and ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious.

After we were done, we decided to walk back to our villa and texted the guard that we were on our way. We were surprised to see that he had actually waited for us on the beach so he could walk with us down the long dark alley that led to their hotel. He really did go the extra mile. What customer service!
Day 5
On our last day we wanted to ride a bike around the place or something but we woke up late and we were just too tired or lazy to do anything more, so we decided to just have breakfast instead. I had poached eggs. You don’t get those just anywhere!

Then we packed and had one last bout of craziness before we left.
I love Bali. I feel like there were so many more things I could have done that I didn’t get to do. Wish I could go back. Someday.
