So we decided to celebrate Maya’s 30th birthday in Ikea, of all places. When she suggested it, I thought it was not where people normally go to celebrate birthdays, but when I realized that it was right next door to Courts, I was quickly onboard. I’ll get to the significance of Courts later.
We had Ikea chicken wings, swedish meatballs and a mini log cake. Yum!
When we got there, I suddenly feigned an interest in ovens. “Didn’t you say you wanted to buy an oven someday? What brand were you thinking of?”
You see, for months now, Maya has been dreaming of buying an oven. It’s one of the things she mentions whenever we talk about dreams (yeah, talking about dreams is kind of our thing).
Maya obligingly showed me the kind of oven she was thinking of getting. She was pointing to several of them, so I said, “Pick one. It will be our birthday gift to you.” By “our” I mean me, Gay, Zenie and Jemma. She was so happy. I’m glad we were instrumental in getting her a dream. 🙂
Then on her birthday itself (the 29th), I shared the below video with her. Happy birthday Maya!
