Twitter recently released its own set of photo filters, so I decided to check them out.
Unlike in the famous Instagram, you can opt to keep your picture in a normal non-square format. If you want it to be square though, you have the option to crop your pic that way.

If you don’t fancy a filter but just want to improve the pic a bit, yiu can press on the magic wand button. It kinda reminds me of my Macbook’s iphoto autocorrect function.

There are eight filters to choose from. I like that you can see the effects of all the filters in one screen so it’s a lot easier to pick the best one to use.

It’s a nice add on, but if they’re doing it just to compete with Instagram, I don’t think it’s gonna work. Instagram is focused on the pictures, and scrolling through an Instagram feed of pure pictures is a different experience compared to having to wade through Twitter’s cocktail of words and other media. Instagram is an album while Twitter is… I dunno, a newspaper. They’re both useful but they have different functions. So when I want to look at pictures I’d still stick to Instagram.
P.S. Follow me on Instagram and Twitter – Deecoded is my handle on both. 🙂
