Our yearend party was held last December 15 at the newly opened W Hotel in Sentosa Cove. The theme was Oppa Gangnam Style, which meant quirky glam, I guess?
For the first time, they wisely decided to hold it on a Saturday night instead of the usual Friday night, for the benefit of the poor guys (us) who had to work overtime and could not get to the party on time in the past.
Anyway, the hotel was located at a really opulent part of Sentosa island which contains million-dollar mansions. The hotel itself was really fabulous.
We had a sit-down dinner with this menu:
📌 Smoked chicken and foie gras terrine, fig and black pepper compote
📌 Shellfish & rissoni stew, oven roasted tomato & basil
📌 Roasted veal loin, portobello whipped anchovy butter, green peas
📌 Valrhona chocolate ganache, candied walnut & torched marshmallow
After the meal was served, there was a program that involved a hired band, a hired dance group, and raffle draws. Our friend Maybelle won a pot of money.
They also played the video I made, a medley of videos of the Christmas decorations in the office which ended with the performance of our group as well as the announcement that we had won the Christmas decorations contest.
As the program went on, we drank and mingled and posed for lots and lots of pictures.
The event ended with a group picture of the 300 or so people who attended the event. Yep, we have a pretty huge office.
But the party didn’t end there.
We rode a shuttle bus that drove us to Chijmes, where we had an after-party at one of the clubs.
There was a funny moment when we realised we were tired and wanted to go home, so we left. But on the way out, we came across our MD, who shooed us back in. Being obedient workers, we did as told. 😅
I’m glad we did, though, because I had a lot of fun dancing in the club! 💃
I’m not sure the MD thought the same, because when he executed a complicated dance move that involved dropping to the floor, he broke his Raybans which were hanging from the front of his shirt. 😰
We eventually did manage to escape from the club later on, so we could go home and get some rest! I was so glad because my high heeled platform pumps were killing me!
