Korea’s Milkcow organic soft serve ice cream recently opened a branch in Singapore, and I had a chance to try it after watching Birdman at The Cathay cinema last Saturday.
Even though it’s new, it surprisingly has no queues, unlike others of its kind, like Honeycreme and Llaollao. There just around 4 people in front of me in the line.
I was surprised to find a bouquet of cones adorning the counter, because it’s exactly like the one in Honeycreme. Who copied whom, I wonder?
Even the menu is very similar to Honeycreme too, with honeycomb and cotton candy toppings. Also like Honeycreme, when I asked for the cotton candy, I was told they had run out. :-/ So I went for honey instead.
My verdict? The ice cream seems softer and creamier than Honeycreme’s, but it tastes very milky. Too overwhelmingly milky, like eating powdered milk which I never liked. My friends had tried it earlier and told me it was too milky, and they were right!
For that reason, I’d say I prefer Honeycreme. But if you love milk, then perhaps you’ll like this more.
