Manicure District Gel Nails {Review}
Today I went to get a gel manicure at Manicure District, a home-based manicure salon in Tampines. What’s great about home-based salons is that they are way cheaper than your typical mall-based salons. Gel manicures usually cost $70 or more in malls, but in Manicure District they’re only $35. That’s half the price! If you want nail art, it’s $3 and above, depending on what kind of art you want.
I scheduled a session via Instagram. She asked me to pick a design I wanted, and asked if she could do marble nails because I had just gotten a new phone case which had a marble design. She said she had never done it before but she was excited to have a chance to try it.
So I went this morning and was impressed with her home salon. I thought we’d just be slotted in one corner of the living room or something, but no, there was an entire room which had been furnished to be a nail salon, with a table and comfy chair on one side and all her Pink Room Nail School certificates up on one wall. Really quite professional looking!
She also had a lot of nail polish colours available. I think that first rose gold glittery colour is to die for! I’ll definitely try that sometime!
It would have taken me a long time to decide on which nail colour to try but luckily I didn’t need to today because she had already tested the marbling technique for me and showed me what she tried to see if I liked any of them and I absolutely fell in love with the one with gold specks. 😍
Pretty soon, she was doing my nails.
While she was doing it, I couldn’t help but notice her own manicure and I was impressed that she managed to draw the Flintstones characters on her hand! That’s talent!

Then she was done and OMG I love my nails!!! Aren’t they so pretty? 😍
I thought the gold foil was a brilliant touch which worked well together with my other plain nails which just had single gold specks on them.
Now my nails are matchy matchy with my phone case! Twinning! 👯

Now, full disclosure – I got the manicure for free but I was just supposed to make an Instagram post about it. Blogging was not part of the deal but I decided that to do that on my own because I really am quite happy with the service and I want her to hopefully get more customers because she deserves it.
