The Naked Gun {Movie Review}

I had such a blast watching The Naked Gun at the cinema this week.
There were so many jokes, such that the cinema audience served like a constant laugh track throughout the film. 😂😂
This is the reason why I enjoy the cinema experience, aside from getting to eat nachos which I prefer over popcorn as a movie snack. I guess it makes me nostalgic for the times I did this with friends in Singapore long ago. 😢
My boyfriend and I had prepared for this by watching all three previous Naked Gun films which were all on Netflix.
I’m surprised that this sequel managed to be as funny as those, because a lot of sequels tend to be lacklustre compared to their originals.
My favorite scene was a montage that involved a snowman. In my opinion, it beat the romantic montage from the original.
By the way, fun fact: Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson are now a real couple! I find it extra sweet when old people find love again, because it gives people hope.
Another recent old people coupling that makes me happy is the real life pairing of Martin Short and Meryl Streep after their stint in Only Murders in the Building.
You can watch the trailer of The Naked Gun here, but it’s probably better to go in blind. Also, you don’t need to watch the original ones to enjoy the film, but some references would make more sense if you do, including a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo.
After you catch it, I suggest hopping on the Reddit discussion thread to see if you missed anything (I certainly did!), and to relive the jokes.
