Last night I tried out yoga just out of curiosity. It wasn’t easy to stretch yourself to the limit and at times attempt to twist yourself into a human pretzel then lift yourself, in said form, off the ground (I wasn’t able to, actually).
But what was weird was how, at the end of the session, I felt so relaxed yet at the same time fully worked out. A difficult combination, yes, because normally at the end of a cardio exercise I feel haggard and woozy and out of breath. Definitely not relaxed.
But yoga – this was different. I was deliciously tired. No wonder celebrities are raving about it all the time.
After a nice warm shower and exchanging a few words with a newfound friend in yoga class, I walked outside and ran into Raffy, a College friend. After the usual “how you doing” we bid each other goodbye.
Then he surprised me when he said, “Ang saya-saya mo, ah. Blooming ka!” Now I always thought people say that about me because of my hair and makeup. But last night my face was scrubbed clean and my wet hair was tied back into a messy uncombed ponytail. I wasn’t in love either. Or was I? With yoga? Hmmm.
I’m definitely going back next week.
