In X-Men: The Last Stand, the final chapter in the X-Men motion picture trilogy, a “cure” for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, though it isolates and alienates them, or give up their powers and become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier, who preaches tolerance, and Magneto, who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test — triggering the war to end all wars. {source}
For those who have not seen this movie yet, the best advice I can give you is this: watch this movie in the cinema to fully appreciate the effects and stay until after all the credits have rolled so you won’t miss the final scene. Then don’t read beyond this point because spoilers are in abundance.
WARNING: SPOILERS!
Last night we (Chu, Maya, Zenie and me) watched X-Men III: The Last Stand in Glorietta 4 Cinema 4. I hadn’t seen the first two, but being an X-Men fan during my childhood days, I didn’t need to, since I know the characters already and didn’t need that background. Of course, being a true X-Men fan, I knew that most of the story lines were off, but that’s the sort of thing you have to expect from books-turned-movies.
The movie was great, with awesome effects. My favorite “effects” scene was when Magneto ripped off the bridge so that they can use it to cross over to the facility where the cure was being made.
I just wasn’t that happy with Jean Grey’s role in the story. I mean, she had supposedly died in part 2 but came back in part 3, then she had this weird thing going on and killed Scott (my crush!) and then Professor Charles Xavier. Then at the end of the movie, Logan, who loved her so much, was forced to kill her in order to protect the world and herself from her uncontrollable powers.
I cried when Storm gave a eulogy in Charles’ funeral and and was most touched at the scene when Pyro told Magneto that he would’ve killed Charles himself given the chance. Magneto, Charles’ supposed sworn enemy, grabbed Pyro and defended the professor, saying, “My only regret is that Charles had to die for our cause.” So deep inside, he still loved his bestfriend-turned-enemy.
And then I told the guys to stay on after the credits because that’s what Reggie, who had already seen the movie, had told me. So we did just that, and we wondered if something really was gonna happen after the credits because it really seemed like the end already. But after the last of the letters had scrolled upwards, there was indeed a final scene. A nurse tending to a sick man who calls her by name. She is startled and asks, “Charles?” Wow, the prof is alive.

After the movie we walked outside and posed infront of the movie posters. Chu pretended that Wolverine’s blades were his, Zenie pinched her fave Johnny Depp on the nose while I kissed Orlando Bloom on the cheek. Hehehe. Then we played in Timezone, like we usually do, to use the 2 free games per movie ticket we bought. Then we headed on home.

Hi! You know what, I had one of the biggest regrets of my gimmick life… my Fiance and I left right in time for the credits (which we usually do to avoid traffic at exit parking)….that’s why, I MISSED that last scene you (and our other friends) mentioned! Gee, so much for the expensive tickets…waaaaaah!!!

Anyway, thanks for visiting my page. Cute, we have some things in common! Hope
