I mentioned in the previous blog that two of my friends from the office are resigning. Our despedida session in IO was kind of bitin, so we decided to have a surprise lunch for them in their last day in the office, which is today.
We gathered everyone together, including those who have been so busy these past few months that they couldn’t have lunch with us. Then we pretended to invite them to our usual 36th floor lunch when actually, we had reserved a huddle room and ordered Kenny Rogers.
We led them there under the pretense of picking Yen up, then once we were all seated, Yen launched the video presentations I slaved over for them both. I say “slave” because this is the first time I did one (two, actually) and I had to learn it on my own.
But the hard work paid off because it touched not just the two, but everyone else who watched them. Actually, most of us had already seen them prior to the “unveiling” and we all had the same reaction…the presentation made the reality that they were really leaving sink in and brought us to tears. Sigh. I’m sure gonna miss those two. =.(
