When Liza was a new hire in P&G, and we welcomed her to our lunches, she did not tell us she was pregnant until two months later. She said that she kept it a secret because some companies don’t regularize pregnant employees, which I think is a ridiculous practice. Thankfully, P&G is not like them. Since then, time flew by so fast, and last May, she gave birth to a bouncy baby girl under Caesarian operation due to floating baby syndrome (don’t ask, I get enough grief from my pals from knowing the term). We went to visit her in Makati Medical Hospital, and while we were wandering aimlessly down the halls because certain people jumbled up Liza’s room number, we ran into comedy king Dolphy and his wife Zsa-Zsa. Eventually we found Liza’s room, and after we said hi to the recuperating new mom, her hubby led us to the nursery room to proudly point out their newborn babe, who was the only infant swaddled in pink in the room. I think that disproves the theory on the ratio of men to women.
A month later, we received invitation cards to the baby’s christening. So last Sunday, Yen and Drew (who was chosen to be one of the baby’s godfathers) and I went to Guadalupe Catholic Church. We were rather late, so we were not able to see the priest name the child Rhyza. Though of course, the naming is only part of the entire christening process, but since I’ve never been to one before, I really don’t know the rest. All I know is that Rhyza was officially given the name that her mother had thought of even before she was born. I know because she told us, and I also know because as early as now, I already have a name for my future (far far future) babies in mind. But no, I don’t have my wedding planned out yet. Let’s just be clear on that. =)
After the Church ceremony, there was a reception in Max’s Fried Chicken Jupiter branch. So we rode a cab to the venue, and proceeded to partake of the feast while chatting about all sorts of things under the sun. Liza came over to our table for a chat, since she was on maternity leave from the office and hadn’t seen us since the hospital visit. Then her hubby came over with the baby and we had a pictorial session before parting ways.

heids! im a victim of that naming-your-baby-before-it-is-even-born thingy hehe! although to be fair i didn’t think of naming them myself, it was me and gim, we decided to name our future babies. and the silly thing is, im adamant that im never ever going to give birth! hehehe! (gim insists he wants children though)

another thing tamen – do you ever feel that you never ever want anybody

haha..funny..really funny. :)
i guess i could relate to what you’ve experienced.

Ma’am Amor would always pronounce my name as gi-yo (as in the "guh" sound), and my relatives from both parents would spell it as "geo". and my paternal lola, with a robust visayan accent, would say "je-yo".

but i guess that’s what make’s me unique. haha
LiLaC says
but it’s ji-yo, right? that’s what i think it is. hope i’m right. =)
