A few months ago, Petron unveiled two floors of restaurants for the eating pleasure of Buendia-based employees. After trying Teriyaki Boy’s Japanese dishes, Ineng’s barbeques, and Pancake House’s breakfast meals, we set our sights on the newest addition, Singkit New York Chinese Takeout Food.
We had some Hoisin chicken, sweet & sour fish, lechon kawali and Shanghai rice.
Though the place specializes in Chinese takeout food, we did not expect that even for those dining in, they’d serve the food in those Chinese cardboard boxes that we often see on American shows. Quaint, but not exactly the easiest things to eat out of.
But when we tasted the food — wow! The effort (and do I mean effort) is worth it. The meat and fish were so tender (the fried chicken tasted kinda like Chowking’s chicken supreme, but I like Chowking’s sauce more), and the fried rice was not too oily. Everything was very tasty.
But I think the best plan is to call them for delivery (check out the pic for their delivery numbers) then eat the food out of a plate with non-plastic utensils or a pair of chopsticks.
Now me, I love chopsticks. Whenever there’s a chance to use them, I do. In fact there was a time last year when everyone in our apartment used chopsticks to eat anything from cornicks to pancit canton.
Eating with chopsticks is fun and challenging.
So why not give it a shot?
