As if two despedida’s were not enough, we pushed for one more — our original plan, the sleepover. We rented out a condo room in Millenium Plaza Hotels for one night and checked ourselves in at around 9pm last Friday.
But before that, Gelle, Yen and I stopped by Caltex Starmart to buy food and drinks with our trusty starcard.
Then Arni picked us up in her boyfriend’s car who brought us all to Millenium, where Kes was already waiting.
Drew, who is on Ceemea shift (1-10pm daily) and who is on yearend closing duty, promised to swing by after his work was done.
The night composed of our usual card games (memory game, 1-2-3 pass running version), vodka, and pictorials. But since this was an all-girls night out (or should I say in, and yes, Drew counts as a girl. 3/4 girl, according to him), we felt more liberated and hence drank a bit more, screamed a bit more, and went wild a bit more.
Yen was the first to get conked out, and so sound asleep was she that she didn’t even wake up even when we pried her eyes open and made her look like she was dead.
Finally, we all got tired ourselves and piled like sardines on the bed and slept in that cozy position.
The next morning, Kes took her laptop and showed us a powerpoint presentation she had made — her response to ours.
After that we started sharing messages to each other and tears started flowing when we all realized that things won’t be the same as before anymore.
Sigh. But life’s like that, and it must go on. I’m just glad we had that bonding activity. It will remain with me forever.
