A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a package at True Spa. My consultant Evelyn sure is a talker. This afternoon I called True Spa to book a last minute appointment for a pedicure, they said they were fully booked. But when I asked Evelyn to do so, she was able to book me one. So I’m glad she’s my consultant. So far I’ve also enjoyed all my sessions in True Spa. I enjoyed my free massage from Ann (I’ll be asking for her from now on), and I loved the hydrobath with goat’s milk since I’ve always been such a sucker for warm bubble baths. Though I did not enjoy the facial because of the pain (as all facials that involve blackheads extraction are), it was pretty thorough and therefore satisfactory.
So anyway, I was in Lucky Plaza with Cate and Tatsie, and we ended up in Tangs where I looked for low-heeled black sandals because the ones I own have mysteriously disappeared. I have flats, but they seem informal sometimes, and in Singapore where you have to do a lot of walking, I try not to wear my wedges or stilletoes unless absolutely necessary. In Tangs, I found some plain lightweight ones that were cheap, so even though I the design was ordinary, I asked the saleslady to box them. Then when she gave me the box, I saw, right behind her, the sandals that I fell in love with at first sight. I asked to buy those instead. Luckily they had them in my size. 39 is a hard size to shop for. Just try buying a to-die-for pair on sale in Charles and Keith.
After that I headed to True Spa, which is located in Takashimaya 16th floor. The receptionist asked me to proceed to the mani-pedi area and look for Jolin. I found her and she was very nice and good at what she does. She knew at once that I was in pain when she buffed my big toe and I jerked, even though I did not say anything. She knew the root cause – an ingrown nail which is the effect of self-pedicuring. She gave my toenails a thorough cleaning and also buffed my soles and scrubbed and massaged my legs. She asked me to pick a nail polish color from their list. The one I wanted, glittery pink, was out of stock already, but she said she could use a plain pink one and paint glitter on top of it instead. I ended up getting a manicure too, when I saw some cute clear nail polish with pink heart decals. It was hard to get hearts with every dip of the brush, so she fished them out of the bottle one by one with a small stick and arranged them on each of my nails. What effort. I am asking for her from now on!
