Kuishin-bo Department Dinner

I attended my first department outing last Thursday night. We headed to Kuishin-bo at Suntec City Tower 1, Level 3. We rode the MRT to City Hall and I led them to the mall through a shortcut path that I learned from having worked in an office located in said mall a couple of years ago.

I’m wearing an empire-cut dress in preparation for all that food
so this is how much it costs!
It was a Japanese buffet and there was so much food. Everything was so delicious, certainly loads better than Sakura, the other Japanese buffet I tried here in Singapore.
long-legged crabs
sushi,  sushi and more sushi
this looks really pretty, but I wasn’t too crazy about its taste
teppan and baked clams… the baked clams were hands down the best main course in this place
desserts galore
check out our table. my faves – baked clams and fluffy cheesecake
with my meal buddy, Ivy

Farrah had informed us beforehand that if we heard the “tong tong tong” (pakitong-kitong?) sound being played, we should rush in line to get limited servings of certain food.

We were seated at our table at the farthest end of the room when I first heard the sound.

Everyone laughed when they saw me run so fast despite the fact that I was wearing high heels. The reward for my effort was worth it. =)

tong tong tong… buttered tiger prawns!

The second “tong tong tong” moment just when I happened to be standing in the desserts area. I ran so fast again, and this time it was a couple pieces of dessert. Yum! I shared my other one with Maya.

tong tong tong… ice cream nestled inside a hollowed out strawberry!
my high heeled sandals. the color just happened to match my pedicure.

Here are some pictures of the people in my department, HFS. There are some 40 of us, and about half of those are Filipinos.

Here is my team. Jemma and I like to jokingly refer to us as a family. Our senior/team leader is Melcus, the guy in the middle. When we told him we wanted a picture with him, he jokingly replied, “Just cut and paste our faces together!” Lol.

After dinner, my colleague Shijil brought some of us home in his car. We laughed a lot in there too, and I discovered a new story involving Rodel and Monet, something we like to call the “seatmate theory.” I like the story so much, I am planning to use it in an upcoming project. As to what that project is, you’ll find out in time. =)
