My dear friends Chi and Ngangi have recently started a blog with their sisters and they decided to make “what’s in my bag” blogs like “real” bloggers do. What makes one a “real” blogger, I wonder? Haha! Chi makes the funniest random comments that makes for excellent blog reading! Ngangi and I are getting insecure of her writing, haha!
Anyway, because I’m such a copycat or more like an inggiterang palaka (envious frog), I decided to make one too! Maybe this will make me a “real” blogger now? Haha.
What’s inside my bag |
I like to “carry the world” in my bag so I almost always carry a large bag like this LV speedy which I got for my 30th birthday (interesting story about that here). As you can see I really do need a roomy bag like that for everything I carry, and these are just the “basics.”
(1) Guy Laroche wallet. I love this wallet because it’s classy and not so bulky and it’s in my favorite color, purple. I got a S$60 discount on this during last year’s Great Singapore Sale. You really find the most awesome bargains during that time of the year! 😀
(2) S.T. Louis vanity kit. This one is once again in my favorite color. I was very happy when I found this because it was exactly what I wanted, the right size, color, and price (below S$5). What does it contain? More on that later.
(3) Folding umbrella. Yes, once again in purple. sheepish smile This is a must-have for anyone living in Singapore because the sun can be very hot and sometimes, out of nowhere, it suddenly rains.
(4) Kindle. I used to bring a book in my bag, but this one is better, like having hundreds of books in my bag but at the same size! Haha. It really is an amazing gadget, read my review about it here. I use it to read books to while away time during commute.
(5) Cath Kidston pouch. This is my accessories pouch. Usually at some point during the day I start getting annoyed with my ring or my necklace feels like it’s strangling me or my earrings start to make my ears itch, so I take them off and place them in here. I used to just throw them into my bag where they got tangled with other things and sometimes got ruined or lost, so I was happy when my friend Zenie gave this to me as a Christmas present.
(6) Mango sunglasses. I once read in the book French Women Don’t Get Fat that the most important anti-aging accessories are the sunglasses. Why? Because our most sensitive skin is around our eyes and they age the fastest, so we always have to protect them from our skin’s biggest aging enemy – the sun – by using shades to protect them. Ever since I read that I have never left the house without shades.
(7) Iphone. Who leaves the house without a cellphone these days? Forgetting it at home is almost like leaving the house naked. My iphone is literally my lifeline. I go nuts without it because all the non-work internet sites are blocked in our office so there is no way I can communicate to the world. Of course there’s email but who reads personal emails these days?
(8) Tory Burch wristlet. It’s in purple again! And it’s also another Christmas gift, this time from Ngangi. I keep my coins, office access cards, and ezlink card in here. My phone can also fit in here if it’s not in a bulky case. So this is all I need to bring when I go out for lunch. Quite handy.
Ok I’m done with the things inside my bag so let’s take a look at what’s inside my vanity kit. Bagception! Bag + Inception. Get it?
What’s inside my vanity kit |
(1) Makeup Forever powder foundation compact. Because oiliness is next to ugliness. I use this to touch up and powder my T-zone which gets ridiculously oily from time to time.
(2) Bath and Body Works anti-bacterial hand gel. For when I need to sanitize my hands before eating.
(3) Eclipse mints and Pearlie White breath spray. For when I need to freshen my breath. Nobody likes to talk to someone with bad breath, and I happen to talk a lot, so…
(4) Vicks Vaporub and pill case for migraine meds. For when I get migraine attacks. Read more about my crazy migraine here.
(5) Lip stuff. I don’t know what my deal is and why I have to carry so many of them. Burts Bees lip balm for when my lips get chappy. 2 shades of lipstick for whichever suits the occasion – 1 dark (Nars Funny Face or fuchsia pink) and 1 light (Bobby Brown Pink Peony). Clinique long last gloss wear for shine.
(6) Liners. Sephora kohl eyeliner and Siky Girl brow liner. I love the eyeliner, read my review here but the eyebrow one, not so much. I just keep it in my bag in case I was running late and didn’t have time to put makeup at home.
(7) Floss. It drives me nuts when food gets stuck between my teeth. Sometimes, it even causes a migraine! Weird but true.
(8) Comb. Not sure why I have this, I never actually use this, haha. I don’t really like to comb my hair, unlike normal girls.
(9) Nail cutter. For nail emergencies and ingrown nails.
(10) Tweezerman tweezers. This baby pair of tweezers just belong in a vanity kit, that’s why.
And that’s it, this blog is too long already. Make one too, it’s kinda fun! 😀
