When I watched The Croods in the cinema last Saturday, I went in with low expectations because the trailer didn’t really appeal to me. But to my surprise, I ended up loving the film! I can describe it in two alliterating words: hilarious and heartwarming.
This movie is an animated film set in the jurassic era about a caveman family headed by Grug (voiced by Nicholas Cage), an overprotective dad. He has a reason for being this way – he only wants to protect his family, which is the sole surviving family after all their neighbors have died from disease, animal attacks, etc. He therefore has one major rule for his family to live by: “NEVER NOT BE AFRAID.” He insists that they should all always be together and should at most times remain in the protective shelter of their cave, much to the chagrin of his feisty and adventurous teenage daughter Eep (voiced by Emma Stone).

Then one day, the world as they know it comes to an end when an earthquake causes their cave dwelling to be destroyed and they have no choice but to follow another caveman named Guy (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) whose life belief is the exact opposite of Grug’s in that rather than being safe and staying in one place, he insists on following the sun into a place he calls “Tomorrow.” While Grug is quite the literal caveman, Guy is a genius with lots of ideas like having animals for pets and inventing shoes and game traps.

Whose belief will help the Croods survive the end of the world? I’m sure you have ideas but I won’t tell you! Go watch it yourself! It’s very funny and made the entire cinema laugh several times, and towards the end, all three of us girls who watched it together found ourselves reaching for tissues.

I'm sure they (and you) would. I heard a lot of little ones' laughter while watching. This isn't actually my C post, it's just a coincidence that it starts with a C! Haha. It's funny now that you point it out.
