So some weeks ago, this happened:
I wasn’t kidding. LOL. See, there are some stories that can be told better with illustrations and the iphone screen is just too teeny tiny to be able to draw on it properly. Ok maybe I don’t really have great drawing skills but I could at least work better on a bigger screen, right? RIGHT???
Ok fine, so maybe that was a slightly weird reason for wanting to buy an ipad mini. I mean, talk about a waste of money.
So it’s a really good thing that I got one for FREE!!!! 😀 😀 😀
Yes that’s right, I actually got an ipad mini without having to pay anything for it, thanks to my brother, who gave it to me as a (super advanced) birthday gift! Isn’t he so generous?
Now I never wanted an ipad because I thought it was way too big and heavy to carry around in my bag, but the mini is just the perfect size! It’s around the same size as my kindle and fits perfectly in most women’s bags, even satchels.
Since I got the gadget for free, I thought that gave me an excuse to splurge on its accessories, so I got these:
Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Mini
Everyone know’s it’s a nightmare to try and type a blog using a virtual keyboard. I loathe it! So when I found out you could actually connect the ipad to a bluetooth keyboard, I just knew I had to get one. When I walked into the first Courts store I saw to look for one, I was in luck because they had only the best one in stock. (I know it’s the best because I saw it on web lists later on.)
Here’s the keyboard. It’s the same size as the ipad mini, exactly the same size because it is supposed to be “the other half of ipad mini.”
One side of it is magnetic, so you can snap it on to the ipad mini and use it as a cover. That’s why it’s called “other half.” So clever, right? People always go “WOW!!!!” whenever I show them this function. 😛
And then of course you can use it to prop up your ipad mini like a laptop monitor so that you now have a mini laptop! How cool is that? Now I can blog on the go, like I did while registering for the color run.
Adonit Jot Mini Stylus
Now since I had wanted the ipad mainly to be able to draw, I needed a stylus. I already had one for my iphone which I had bought during the couple of weeks that I was caught up in the Draw Something app obsession, but I find that stylus to be too fat. While I was browsing through Courts, I happened to see this too, and when I read “most precise tip on the market” and saw that they had one in my favorite color purple, well I just had to have it, didn’t I?
It really is very precise compared to most other styluses (styli?) out there (and I’ve scouted around, believe me). I’m quite happy with it. Now if only I really did have drawing skills! Tsktsk.
M)phosis Zippered Sleeve
I looked around for a cheap sleeve in which to store my ipad to keep it clean and scratch-free, and just my luck I happened to find this in M)phosis which is actually a clothing and shoe store, the last place I expected to find one. Perhaps this is really supposed to be a clutch and not a sleeve! The thing doesn’t actually have a label so I’ll never know for sure. 😛
And that’s it! Tune in next time when I discuss my favorite apps!
