Or so the song goes. Yes I got my blog post idea from a song. It’s a song sang by one of my favorite Filipino singers, Jose Mari Chan.
But anyway! My idea of a perfect Christmas, really, is exactly as the song says, just dinner with loved ones, whether family or friends, like I do most years since moving away from home. That’s how I’m doing it this year, actually, and I’m actually looking forward to it because of the theme we came up with, which is fodder for another blog post, obviously.
But you know what? My idea of a perfect Christmas, really, is one I’ve never experienced before, the stuff I grew up watching or reading about… I’m dreaming of a white Christmas. (Yeah, I totally inserted another song into this blog post like it’s some kind of medley or mash up or something.)
I wanna build a snowman. ⛄️ (I totally sang this line ala Frost.)
A real one, not that fake one in the above picture which I helped build last year. His name is Crumpy the snowman because he’s made up of crumpled papers stuffed into white garbage bags.
I want to taste eggnog and mulled cider and all the other famous Christmas food.
I want to ice skate (though I have terrible balancing skills and would probably end up flat on my butt most of the time).
I want to make snow angels.
I want to wear a trench coat and gloves and boots.
I want to catch falling snowflakes on my tongue. ❄️
And I want to do all this with loved ones still in the picture. Because Christmas will never be perfect if it doesn’t have love in it, after all. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?
What about you, what is your idea of a perfect Christmas?

Ehhh snow is overrated. You're not missing much 🙂 It is fun for a day or two but then it all gets old. I'd love a Christmas at the beach!
