It’s the day after Christmas, so you must have opened all your presents by now! Which one was your favorite? Or better yet, which was your best Christmas gift EVER? I asked some bloggers who did the Christmas card exchange with me to answer this question, and here’s what they said!
The present that is most distinct from my childhood is a “teacher Barbie.” She could talk, and came with a classroom and students. I wanted it so badly for several months before Christmas that I cried with happiness when I unwrapped it.
In recent memory, it sounds really silly, but Sam’s first gift to me was socks. (Very unromantic, right?) But we weren’t officially dating then, just friends and I hadn’t gotten him anything at all. I’m always cold and my extremities are always like shards of ice. My cold fingers and toes were one of the first jokes between us. He included a note “to the lovely lady with the eternally cold feet” and it really warmed my heart.
In December 2010, my now-husband bought me a kitten. He took me to the humane society and this little grey, runt, fluff ball attached himself to my coat. He fit in the palm of my hand. The Canadian adopted him for me and it was the best Christmas experience ever!
To be able to spend time being nonsensical with friends is the best gift I ever had and will ever have.
I’m not very materialistic to be honest now I am older. When I was a kid, I think my first “real” bike was the best one!
My DSLR 🙂 I gained a new hobby and I love learning more about the world of photography!
When I was 11 my parents gave me my first cell phone for Christmas, which was a huge surprise and incredibly exciting.
As for me, my best Christmas gift ever were two Barbie dolls I got when I was 8, I think. I badly wanted one and I’m not sure why I got two. I named them Annie and Rosie and they were my most favorite toys until I reached high school. Yes, I still played with dolls until high school. Oops.
In recent memory, my favorite gift is the stuffed chipmunk in the picture below. I really REALLY wanted one because it looked so cute and cuddly and if I couldn’t have pets, then a fake one would suffice! Then my friends Chi and Anoop surprised me by giving me one. That was the moment I realized that they really did love me, and we’ve become best of friends since.
I know, how weird are my answers, right? I guess I just turn into a kid at Christmas time. (Or actually, I just like hugging a stuffed toy to sleep. Some habits are hard to break.)

Merry Christmas, Dee! To be honest, I can't recall any particularly exciting gifts I've received in the past, which I actually feel a little bad about because I'm sure there have been some. But this year, as a Christmas gift, I was taken for a week in Barcelona and it was an amazing trip, so I guess that could be mine! 🙂
