TGIF! Let me regale you with a funny Friday adventure.
Two Fridays ago, my team mate Hari invited our entire team to drinks at a bar, his belated treat for his promotion. But because of Murphy’s Law*, we got stuck at work due to an issue with one of our funds and only got to Arab Street at around 11pm. By then, the bar he wanted to go to was already full, so we had to look for another place.
So we decided to walk towards Chijmes, where there were a few other options. It’s quite a long walk, so Camille kept asking me if I was okay, because I was in high heels. I told her that they were actually slippers – Crocs disguised to look like cork platform wedge sandals – and was therefore very comfortable. My feet didn’t hurt the entire time at all!
When we finally got to Chijmes, Murphy’s Law struck again in that Hari’s bar of choice turned out to be closed for renovation. It was already very late, so we decided to just go inside any bar that was available, and the only one that was played Bollywood-ish music, which really isn’t our thing. Hari apologised repeatedly and said that everything would seem better after a couple of drinks. We had a place to sit and free drinks, so I didn’t have anything to complain about. Well, okay, I suppose there is, maybe the fact that I don’t know how to dance to this music? But Raw surprised us because he did. It involved a lot of arm flailing. Hari stared at him at one point and said, “I didn’t expect him to be like this.” LOL.
We ordered whisky scotch and mixed it with coke and green tea. That’s right, green tea! So strange, right? But the funny thing is, it tastes good! I like it better than coke as a mix.
I don’t drink often or a lot, believe it or not, but when I do, I don’t get drunk easily. I don’t know why that is. So the boys were shocked at how quickly I could down the drinks and they panicked and told me to relax. But they shouldn’t have worried because 10 glasses of mixed scotch and 2 jager bombs later…. I fell asleep. LOL. I woke up to Hari saying, “You should go home.” I replied, “No!!!! I’m fine!!!!” He had a look on his face that said “yeah, right.” #signsofaging
But at least I didn’t puke or run away or cried that nobody loved me or made a fool out of myself! (Which may or may not have happened before.)
So some of us left the bar so we could go home. Some of the boys were just supposed to help us hail cabs but somehow we ended up having a very animated and lengthy conversation at the foot of the stairs. We talked for so long that after a while, Gopi, who had been left inside the bar, showed up with a pitcher of mixed scotch with coke.
“What are you doing with that?” we asked him. “Why did you bring that out of the bar?”
“You took so long that they already closed and gave me our drinks in this!” he explained. “Why did you leave me behind???” Oops.
And then we talked some more.
We eventually did manage to tear ourselves away from our very fascinating conversation, find a cab, and get ourselves home at around 4am.
The next morning, I woke up without a hint of a hangover at all. I love scotch!
Enjoy your Friday! 🙂

Holy hell! If I drank that much I'd be so hungover I'd want to be dead. I'd also definitely have been sick. Probably on myself! You go girl! x

I am now beginning to realize that I may in fact be a freak. LOL.

Beer + tequila makes me sick and gives me a terrible hangover the next day.
