SYNOPSIS
An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.
To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot, a tree-like humanoid (Vin Diesel), the deadly and enigmatic Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista).
But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

VERDICT
I am a fan of Marvel movies and Chris Pratt from Parks and Recreation, so one Wednesday night when I found myself off work early, I grabbed the chance to watch it using a free movie voucher. Yes, by myself, because it was so last minute that I didn’t have time to invite people and I didn’t want to wait anymore.
It was so worth the impromptu solo flight! It was so hilarious and heartwarming, with amazing special effects, badass fight scenes, and a kickass soundtrack (from the 80s). Everything that I’ve come to expect of Marvel movies.
Chris Pratt was a far cry from the adorably chubby Andy Dwyer from Parks and Rec, because he had lost 60 lbs in 6 months for this film and is now a total hottie.

But while Peter Quill is the hottest, my favorite character is Groot. He only had three words in his vocabulary but he had the most expressive eyes which drew me in. On top of that he also had the greatest powers, the funniest scenes thanks to his stupid moments, and best of all, the best heart. He had such a sweet bromance with Rocket, too.

Seriously, I can’t believe I would ever cry for a tree, but there you go. Slight spoiler alert. I definitely relate to everything in this article: For Everyone Who has an Intense Emotional Connection with Groot. Major spoiler alert.
Definitely worth a watch!

Got to love a bit of Groot! Loved his little dancing bit at the end.
It's amazing how a character so limited in vocabulary can express such a huge range of emotion to an audience.

Yeah, that would be great, since we have the same taste in movies/television!

Yeah that was funny!
I think it was his eyes. He proved the saying about how eyes are windows to the soul.
