A weekend ago, we discovered a hidden gem of a restaurant in the heart of CBD, which we decided to purposely seek out for a change. So there we were, just traipsing along, looking for a place to have dinner after watching Cavalia, when I saw this front window and knew we just had to eat there!
When we walked in, we were all pleasantly surprised at how it was even more beautiful inside.
The whole place was so flipping’ cute! In every corner I could find something that belonged on a pinterest board.
We were led to what was possibly the best seat in the place, in a corner booth with a leather couch in front of a wall lined with gold framed vintage pictures.
I thought the menus which looked like old school hardbound books was a genius touch, and they look perfect alongside the mason jar drinks and tea lights.
Is it just me, or does that shadow on the menu cover look like a dinosaur?
We wondered what kind of cuisine they served, and were surprised to find that it was Thai. Not that there’s anything wrong with Thai food, which I love a lot, but it was just unexpected, is all. I mean I thought they would serve western food or brunch stuff. I didn’t even need to think too much about what to order because my go-to Thai dish is pad thai, which I almost always get whenever I find myself in a Thai place.
This was delicious! Absolutely loved it. But then again, I usually do. It’s not my go-to dish and one of the most popular Thai dishes for no reason, am I right?
This was Armar’s choice and he was pretty happy with it as well. It doesn’t come with the rice, you have to order that separately.
This was Arlyn’s choice and it took forever to get served; we had to follow up on it twice. Armar had a theory that they probably served Arlyn’s order to another table by accident. Maybe he’s right, who knows. This was our only gripe with the place, which I hope was just a one-off incident because I liked it so much, I would love to come back someday.
One more thing I loved – the fact that the place wasn’t too crowded, probably because it’s smack in the middle of the business district on a weekend. Who knows what the place looks like on weekdays and weeknights.
So yes, I highly recommend the place. See you there sometime, maybe?
