The bubble tea craze has finally trickled down to my hometown. While I’ve been riding around in tricycles, I’ve noticed several bubble tea shops with a clever play on the word “tea” in their names, like Serinitea, Frostea, and Jelly Citea.
I had a chance to check out the last one with my college friends after our reunion dinner at The Fat Monk.
They had a cozy interior.
This was their menu.
We all ordered Citea creamy specialties. Everyone except Cate had Paris (wintermelon) while Cate had New York (chocolate).
I thought Paris was too sweet. That’s because they don’t have sugar levels. Back in Singapore I usually get 50% on normal teas and 25% on wintermelon, because it tends to be sweeter.
New York was perfect, though. Cate made the right choice.
We had gotten there just as the shop was about to close at 10pm, so we could not stay long, unfortunately. Too bad, it seemed like a nice place to hang out and talk, especially with Maya who got stuck at work and did not get to join us for dinner earlier.
She showed up and brought christmas gifts for everyone – mason jars, calamansi squeeze, and peanuts. So thoughtful!
Nevertheless, we did enjoy our very brief stay in there.
