Nikki’s Farewell Dinner at the Airport

So I said goodbye to another office friend last December. She applied for an internal transfer to Charlotte, USA. Her last day in our Singapore office was actually on the 24th of December, but since most of us were going home for Christmas, we had to have her send off on the last day that all of us lunch mates would be together, which was the 12th.

I said that since we wouldn’t be able to bring her to the airport on her last day, we’d do it earlier. A pre-airport send-off, I said. Haha.

So we asked her to choose a restaurant at Changi Airport, and she decided on Sakae Sushi.

We took a few pics around the office before cabbing over to the airport.

We joined a short queue before they led us to a table. They had lots of sushi plates going around on conveyor belts, so we helped ourselves to those, then ordered a few other things off the menu like hand rolled sushi (which is my fave kind), salmon, chawanmushi, and indulgent banana shakes. So yum!

After dinner, we walked around and had some pictures with the decorations in Changi Airport, the best airport in the world.

Later on, Nikki left a farewell card on my desk which I found after I came back from my holiday.

She said that it was a good thing that we weren’t around on her last day because waterworks would have ensued. I have to agree.

Nikki, I will miss you but I am happy for you. I know you will have a great life over there.
