White Sands, the mall linked to the Paris Ris MRT, is in the process of being renovated, but they have already opened some of the restaurants in their snazzy new second floor, like Thai Express.
My roommate is a huge fan of that restaurant, so she was really excited when she found out they were opening a branch in “our” mall. We decided to have lunch there one Sunday.
Here’s what we ordered:
King Chulalongkorn wrote in his diary that this was his favourite dish. Now I’m writing in mine that this is mine, too! This is really delicious! It was so yummy that my former favourite, pad thai, paled in comparison and I just wanted to eat this! I love that it has green mango slices and tastes a bit like the Philippine bagoong rice.
Some would spell it as “pad thai.” I guess it’s the same thing. Most people love these famous Thai fried noodles for its sweet, sour, spicy, and nutty flavour. This used to be my fave, until  discovered the dish featured above.
I love Thai coconut ice cream and the taste of this one did not disappoint. I wish I had ordered the other option, which was mostly ice cream with ruby red toppings, because I did not really care for the other stuff that came with this version – sweet glutinous rice, atap seed, and crushed peanuts.
Then I washed it all down with Thai iced milk tea.
The food is really good in Thai Express, I would highly recommend it.
I would also highly recommend walking around White Sands even if it is not completely open yet, because you’ll be amazed at how completely different it is now compared to before. It looks more elegant. I mean, take a look at its new food court.
And they have pretty placeholders for the shops that aren’t open yet.
I’m excited for it to fully open, though, coz apparently there’s finally gonna be a Starbucks! Dream come true! Here’s a list of expected shops.
Can’t wait to see the whole thing open!

I miss Thai food so so much! I guess being in Singapore it’s very close so the dishes are still somewhat the same, but Thai restaurants here are SO different because I can never seem to get hold of mango sticky rice, crispy pork and roast duck haha. Serious food/location envy right now xo
