I was scrolling through my Instagram feed yesterday when I happened upon a picture of a drool-worthy “over the top” milkshake fromĀ Benjamin Browns Bistro & Bakery and knew that I had to try it! So IĀ told my friends about it andĀ when the haze PSI dropped below hazardous level this evening, we decided to go check it out.
I wondered where Forum Galleria was because I had never been there. Armar told me it was somewhere across the Thailand embassy and to exit towards Wheelock. So I did just that. When I walked into the mall, we kept a lookout for a queue because that would probably be the place and sure enough, we did find one. š¶š¬šš«šÆ
The place was small but tastefully decorated. I especially love the dreamyĀ lights hanging from the ceiling!
They are most known for their over the top shakes which they proudly advertise on their window. These shakes have an assortment of goodies stacked on top of their glasses, hence the name.
They’re quite pricey at $16 (without tax) apiece, so we had purposely eaten cheap dinner elsewhere before goingĀ there. We debated on whether we would get just one shake or two, and in the end we decided to get two and not eat sweets for the next ten days. #deathbydiabetesĀ š¦š©šØš°šŖš«š¬š
I loved my nutella banana milkshake! It wasĀ so delicious! TotallyĀ worth all the calories! š
However it becameĀ a little bit too much after a while, what with the overload of chocolate flavored wafers and love letters and fudge on top, so I suggest sharing it with someone if you intend to try it. I thought it was a genius idea to stick those salted pretzels on with nutella around the rim of the glass for design purposes. The salted pretzels helped combat the sweetness, too. š
The old school shake was good, too, but I’m not really into vanilla as much as choco-banana, so I preferred mine. Also, the yellow wafer was unexpectedly durian-flavored, and I hate durian, so that was a minus for me. š
If you thought those were the only pictures we took, then you obviously don’t know us very well. As another blogger said, these bad boys are so Instagrammable that you’d take a hundred pictures of it beforeĀ panic-slurping everything downĀ when you realize it’s starting to melt (not in those exact words, though).
So obviously, weĀ did just that. š·š·š·š·š·
(Don’t worry I won’t post the other 95 photos here. š)
We took so many photos that the girl on the table next to oursĀ stared at us and lookedĀ very bothered by our odd behavior. Obviously this girl has never been to a blogger event and is not friends with a blogger or avid foodstagrammer. I can’t blame her, though. I did admit that we were odd, right? š
