Earlier this evening I went to Ma Kuang to get a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tuina massage.
It’s okay that the masseuse is a guy because this is a keep-your-clothes-on kind of massage.
I got this massage instead of swedish, which is my favourite, because our company insurance refunds TCM services.
I need a massage in the first place because my back’s been hurting for weeks now.
The massage lasted for 30 minutes, after which, the masseuse asked if I wanted to get the vents cupping therapy on my back, to which I said yes.
Then he recommended this medicated plaster. It costs $7 for 5 huge pieces. He said I could put it on my back at night.
I asked my roommate to help me put one on when I got home and it feels really good! It’s minty and has the same smell which is soothing.
My back feels a whole lot better now. I’d love to go back!
