My friend Kes was in Singapore for a few days, so Gelle and I met her for lunch again before she flew back to the Philippines. We were supposed to grab crab at Pelican but Cebu Pacific had a system issue that caused thousands of flight bookings to go haywire so Kes needed to leave for the airport earlier, so Gelle suggested going to Tim Ho Wan near her hotel station instead.
We met up at V Hotel near Lavender station and walked for a bit to get to Aperia mall, which I had never been to before. I didn’t even know there was anything in Lavender station!
I recommend V Hotel, by the way, because it’s cheap yet so near an MRT station and the city center.
A short queue later, we were seated with this menu in front of us.
I saw these two cute little pig matcha buns being advertised on the table (it’s not on the menu), available only on certain days like Saturdays, so I had to order it for instagram purposes. 😅
In terms of taste, though, the baked buns with bbq pork are my absolute fave! They are so crispy on the outside yet succulent on the inside. Yum!
Kes loved them too and admitted that she didn’t like Tim Ho Wan in Manila but the food tastes better here in Singapore.
Gelle then admitted that she didn’t appreciate them the first time we tried those with Chi, but the next time she ate it, she realized how good they tasted.
Another one of my faves is the steamed egg cake, which is light, fluffy, and sweet.
We ordered a bunch of other things which we ate with gusto. Tim Ho Wan is not the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant for no reason. The awesome thing is that this branch is open for 24 hours, so you can drop by if you needed to eat when all the other restaurants are closed.
And then of course, we goofed around. I’m so happy I got to hang out with my girls! Reunions with close friends are the best!
